Commitments

Questioning, innovating, and acting for real social and environmental impact.

Why get involved in an impact adventure?

What matters to us.

Since our founding in 2020 (and even a bit before), at Tero we’ve always had the desire to act on our impact as a company. It’s in our DNA. We believe we have a role to play for all the people and nature that are part of our ecosystem. But, to be honest, we’re still at the beginning of this journey. Let the journey continue!

– Arthur Lhoist, co-founder of the Tero group

At Tero, we commit to asking questions that drive us to think differently and generate new ideas. Our goal is to find ambitious yet realistic answers to embrace our role in addressing today’s social and environmental challenges.

To better understand us, let’s look back at our history…

Our commitment rests on 3 essential pillars

Develop our activities by fostering respect and inclusion, and building connections through our profession.

Our support for local economic development

Tero Group is committed to having as positive an impact as possible on the communities where we operate. We aim to strengthen the local economy by ensuring that a significant portion of our procurement remains local. We pledge that at least 50% of our spending on products and services (excluding labor) will come from local, independent suppliers, taking into account the specific location of each of our sites.

Our civic commitment

We are committed to playing an active role in the well-being of the local communities where we operate by partnering with organizations that share our values and align with our activities, such as sustainable food, sport as a lever for diversity and inclusion, and employment.

How? Volunteering, financial donations, in-kind contributions, and pro bono support.

Our diversity and inclusion plan

Our goal? To create a true culture of inclusion at Tero and at the heart of our activities! To achieve this, we actively collaborate with diversity sector stakeholders such as Actiris and Cap Event.

Develop our activities with respect for the environment and by strengthening our connection to the earth.

Our Food & Beverage Commitment

We want to prioritize sourcing environmentally friendly food and beverage products. What exactly do we mean? For example, short supply chains, organic vegetables, free-range pork, and beef from organic farms.

Our CO₂ Emissions

We aim to contribute to mitigating climate change by reducing CO₂ emissions at our scale, based on the specific challenges of our activities.

Measure before acting! We commit to conducting a comprehensive carbon footprint assessment, including scopes 1, 2, and 3, every 5 years, and to monitoring our scope 1 and 2 emissions annually. For this, we can rely on our partnership with Tapio.

Our Waste

Sorting and reducing our waste to minimize environmental impacts across all our sites is our goal! Our quantitative ambition? To reduce non-recyclable waste by 15% in weight.

Evolve our activities through our sustainability innovation.

Our Governance

A committee comprising C-level executives meets three times a year to align decision-making around social and environmental issues, set clear objectives, and monitor the progress of our commitments. We commit to developing concrete mechanisms to integrate stakeholder considerations, starting with a materiality analysis to identify our relevant environmental and social challenges!

Our sustainable innovation

We foster an environment conducive to sustainable innovation across all our departments and set innovation targets for each department. Innovative and inspiring projects that serve as a laboratory to create sustainable value and drive change!
